Healthy Families Diaper Drive
The Healthy Families Program will be partnering with other businesses/agencies in hosting a diaper drive two weeks in October (15th-28th). Through its work with families with infants, the Healthy Families program has identified a need in the county for diapers. Diapers are a significant cost to low income families, and is estimated that it costs $100 per month for families to provide diapers for one child. Diapers are not covered by WIC or SNAP benefits and can limit parents from sending their children to daycare/childcare. Consequently the Healthy Families Program will be starting a diaper drive during these two weeks to collect and be able to provide diapers for those families in need.
For all diapers collected; the Program will host a distribution day the Friday before Thanksgiving; November 16, 2018 in our Oneida CAP Office (1068 Northside Shopping Plaza, Oneida, NY) that will be open to CAP families. As we head into the winter months of the year; when heating bills go up and money is often needed in other places, we are hoping that we can bring some relief to some families.
For more information on this drive, or if you are interested in participating, please reach out to Colleen Matthews or at 315-280-0889, ext. 11.
