Community Action Partnership for Madison County (CAP) is part of a national network of Community Action agencies who are committed to changing people’s lives and improving communities. May is Community Action Month, recognizing the tireless work CAP agencies all over the country do to make our communities a better place to live.
CAP for Madison County has many programs that help to improve the well-being of individuals, families, and children. One of those programs, Early Head Start, works with prenatal women and families with children under age three to prepare for pre-school and the early school years. Weekly home visits offer information and activities to support families in parenting, child development, health and nutrition, and family development. Monthly playgroups are offered as well as opportunities for parents/guardians to work together on a policy council. Our Family Support Workers collaborate with families to build a strong and secure foundation for their children’s future.
CAP’s Early Head Start team recently attended the National Head Start conference in Baltimore, Maryland from May 2- May 5. The team was thrilled to connect with other like-minded individuals from all over the country to gain knowledge that they will bring back with them to Madison County.
