Executive Administrative Assistant

 This is a full time non-exempt position. (3-5 days).  The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director to assist in smooth functioning of the agency.

 Activities and areas of responsibility includes: 

  • Responsible for front desk coverage and greeting the public; answering calls and talking to clients.
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director to coordinate, manage and keep the Executive Director on track with schedules, projects and commitments.  Provide clerical and administrative support to the agency including data entry, copying and printing, faxing, scanning and maintaining files.
  • Assist in development and upkeep of annual report, newsletter, fundraising appeals, social media content and website content.
  • Responsible for organization and tracking of compliance measures or documentation as required by Department of State, federal organizations, and all other auditors.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to coordinate Board meetings, minutes etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or five years experience in business or human services in a support role required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to clearly understand, appreciate and articulate Community Action Partnership’s mission.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience in writing brochures and newsletters.
  • Experience with creating documents and reports.
  • Must be well organized and have excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, take initiative, and problem solve with little direct supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point) required; experience with automated data bases a plus.

Housing Counselor-STEHP/Transitional Housing

JOB SUMMARY: 

 ·         Describe Agency Housing programs to potential participants, landlords and community.  Conduct community outreach for the program as requested.

·         Assist clients with affordable housing search, facilitate move in, including but not limited to gathering furnishings, reviewing lease, reviewing tenant responsibilities, meeting with landlords, and discussing payment requirements.

·         Provide intensive case management with clients based on the need of the individual /family.

·         Assist the Housing Program Manager in maintaining accurate reporting of outcomes and with consumers including demographics of population served.  Complete paperwork and case recording in compliance with federal, state and local requirements

·         Assist in the inventory, organization and setting up of Transitional Housing apartments.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

·         High school degree plus five years’ experience in human services or an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years’ experience.   

·         Must have working knowledge of computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry.  Experience with a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) preferred.

·         Must possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as organizational and time management skills.

·         Must be able to identify and nurture strengths and have the ability to establish trusting relationships with culturally diverse populations.

·         Must be able to lift items up to 15 pounds up and down stairs.

·         Must have valid driver’s license evidencing safe driving history and a reliable vehicle.

Healthy Families Family Support Worker 

 JOB SUMMARY:

 ·         Provide home visiting services to families following the guidelines established by Healthy Families New York.

·         Initiate and maintain regular contact with families; provide prenatal and other health information; assist to strengthen parent / child relations; introduce new resources; make appropriate referrals that assist the family in achieving their goals and outcome measures to demonstrate success. 

·         Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the program and maintain confidentiality of all case records and information gathered in the course of providing services.

·         Participate in weekly individual supervision.  Participate in staff training, case consultation, staff meetings, and case coordination meetings with other community service providers.

·         Prepare for home visits by organizing approved program curriculum, individualized resources and supplies, and required paperwork.

 QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

 ·          Minimum qualification – High school diploma / GED plus three years’ work experience caring for young children or providing family development services required; Preferred – Child Development Accreditation or Associates degree in human services or related field and at least 1 year experience working with families and/or children.

·          Experience working with or providing services to children and families or working with, or assisting, high risk families in a community setting is preferred.  Credentialed Family Development Worker preferred.

·          Must have valid driver’s license evidencing safe driving history and a reliable vehicle.
