CAP debuts youth coaching program

Community Action Partnership for Madison County is excited to announce a 10-week coaching program to help Madison County youth succeed in the workplace. The program will begin on April 17 and run through June 20 at their Canastota office.

This project will address the need of low-income youth lacking soft skills who are increasingly important in the changing economy to find and retain jobs. Youth and young adults (high school or GED graduates, or training program experience) will be eligible to participate in coaching activities such as:

•Developing a professional attitude, time management skills, customer service skills, and awareness of work place expectations.

•Improving self-confidence, how to work as a team with co-workers, and accepting and learning from feedback.

•Improving public speaking skills and communication skills.

•Participants will receive aid for class/workshops attended.

CAP began their recruiting process this month. Anyone who is motivated and interested in obtaining and sustaining long-term employment, and will be able to attend one class per week in Canastota on Wednesdays from April 17 to June 20, should contact Diane Ryan via email at dryan@capmadco.org.

For more information on this new program, call 315-697-3588 Ext. 10 or email: info@capmadco.org.
